At 10:24 am, ms Noordam rounds the tip of the Baja California peninsula, and begins her approach to Cabo San Lucas. The Arch At Lands End can be seen as the ship slowly enters the harbor.

Preparing to drop anchor. ms Noordam prepares to drop anchor in the Bay of Cabo San Lucas, while a motorboat pulling a para-sailer zooms past the bow. As she made her approach, many rays leaped out of the water, their world apparently disrupted by the passing ship. It was a marine show worthy of Sea World, and some cynics even suggested that the cruise companies had actually trained these rays to perform. But not even the best trainers in the world could have choreographed such a beautiful ballet.

Cabo San Lucas is a "Tender" port - that is, the ship does not dock, but rather drops anchor, and uses four of her motor launches to "tender" passengers to shore. Moderate swells, caused by a strong westerly breeze, made boarding the tenders a challange for many of the older passengers.
