Entrance to Cabo San Lucas The arch at Lands End
We rode the tender into Cabo Marina. Cabo San Lucas is famous for its deep sea fishing. There are also many beaches to enjoy, as well as shops and restaurants within walking distance of the Tender dock. For those who need to do last minute souvenir shopping before heading back to the ship, there's a public flea market located at the entrance to the tender dock. Bargaining is expected - but look out for the venders who sell T-shirts which are "almost free." They look beautiful, but NEVER try to wash 'em, and expect to wear 'em again.

Land's End Tour A seal sunbathes on the most southernly rock of Baja California
We took the "Land's End Boat Tour" - a 40 minute glass bottom boat trip to Los Arcos, the natural arch fromation at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. The engine noise was very loud, making it hard to hear the narration, but the beautiful and dramatic rock monument made the trip worthwhile. On a rock outchropping - the most southernly land mass of the Baja Peninsula, a sealion naps in the warm afternoon sun.

Los Arcos from the Pacific side. The Noordam at anchor - as viewed from the glass bottom boat.
The glass bottom boat rounded the Baja tip and for a short time, we were in the beautiful Pacific. A number of sealions and pelicans kept a close eye on our boat (and the many others), just in case we needed assistance. Returning to the marina, we were afforded a lovely view of the ms Noordam as she lay at anchor.

Dad enjoying a cool one. Before heading back to the ship, we rode a bus to Giorgio's restaurant, located atop the cliffs at the far end of the bay. Sipping a cold Mexican brew, we enjoyed a spectacular view of the Bay of Cabo San Lucas. I wish we had more time to spend in Cabo - although the ship is scheduled for a six hour layover, the actual time is much shorter. It took an hour for the Mexican authorities to clear the vessel once she dropped anchor - and the last tender of the day departed a half hour before sailing time.
